Overview

Concepts in Algebra, originally titled Computer-Intensive Algebra Curriculumâ„¢, was developed through a joint effort between educators at the University of Maryland, College Park and The Pennsylvania State University. Featuring a new approach to elementary algebra, this curriculum allows 8th- and 9th-grade students to explore mathematics in real-world situations through the development and evaluation of mathematical models. Using computers and calculators, students can access numerical, graphical and symbolic representations of mathematical ideas.
